The Art of Cuijing Garden

Cuijing Garden (Prince Gong's Residence Garden) was the best of its kind (prince garden) in Beijing during the Qing Dynasty(1616~1911 A. D.)and one of the typical examples of traditional Chinese northern gardens. Based on sihe-courtyard type, the garden was marvelously created with garden elements and incorporated southern garden style.This paper explores the art of the garden form angles such as theme, layout, man-made hill, garden-architecture and ornamental plant.
