Informationization: An Important Approach to Reduce Poverty in the Forest Areas

  • On the way from an industrialized society to an informationized one, the informationization is a crucial means of the transition. It is an important historical opportunity to fulfill rapid development for the developing countries like China and also an important way to improve national quality and living standard of the people as well. Most of the poor people are living in our forest areas. And mainly, the reasons for poverty are environmental, social and economical ones. Based on the research on the role of information technology in promoting traditional forestry industry, its role in social development of forest areas and in improving the traditional way of conventional ways of anti-poverty, this paper discusses the practicable models of information technology in order to find feasible methods to reduce poverty in the forest areas.
