Abstract
In order to clarify the humidity -conditioning rule of wood and wood -based interior decorative materials during water vapor changing process and evaluate quantitatively the humidity-conditioning capacity of various materials, the changing curves of relative humidity in the chamber lined with wood, wood-based or inorganic materials during this process are determined at a constant ambient temperature of 26℃. Two parameters x and y are also defined to represent the humidity-conditioning capacity of the materials. The results show:(1) the various materials can be classified into four groups according to their x and y values; (2) wood or wood-based materials can improve the humidity condition of indoor environment very well, i. e., these materials can alleviate the great change of relative humidity; (3) the values of x and y of wood and wood -based materials decrease with increasing A/V; (4) during the cycles applied in this experiment, the influence of material's thickness on humidity-conditioning capacity is not obvious.
