Urban Planning Issues to Make A Children-suitable City: A Case Study about the Children's Playing Field in Different Residential Areas of China and Japan(Ⅰ)

  • It is very rare in the history of urban planning to see cities from the view point of children's playing spaces development. In the future urbanscape, it will be important to keep or develop children's playing spaces, which are called playscape in the city. Urban development is apt to destroy these playscape. Firstly (in this thesis), four districts in Beijing and Tokyo are compared to analyze the structure of children's ages with relation to play within urbanization and to derive the subjects related to the planning of the physical environment.
