A Preliminary Study on the Repellents of Anoplophora glabripennis

  • The results gained from the study are as follow s:(1) The adult's behavior of Anoplophora glabripennis Motschulsky doesn't have repellent characteristics in the "Y" shaped tube. Its creeping direction is blindfold. Its adult and larva can live norm ally on or in the trunk of Ailanthus altissima Swingle. (2) The results of chromatogram analysis show that the chromatogram of Ailanthus altissima and Populus opera Hsu. is different. (3) The results of preliminary study on 7 kinds of mixtures show that D, F, G have repelling characteristics. The repellents of D and G are recommendable for further study on the trees in the field.
